FLORIDA!

We just got home from a fabulous vacation to Florida this last week!  I have been looking forward to this week for a long time, and it didn't disappoint!  We got to stay in my grandparents condo for a few nights and then moved over to their house to finish out the week.  Curt and Lindsey came a long with us and provided us with lots of entertainment, laughs, and memories!

After getting home around 2 am on Saturday night from the wedding, we went to bed and went and picked Curt and Lindsey up around 8 the next morning.  We were ready to get to the beach!  Luckily, we were traveling on a Sunday, so we didn't have any problems with traffic!  We spent the ride down talking, playing 20 questions, I'm going to a party, and anything else we could think of to pass the time.  We made it to Destin around 5ish that night, unpacked our bags, and headed to a nearby wing restaurant for a quick dinner.  We were all pretty worn out from all our travels.

View from our room on Sunday night.

I love running on the trails around Sandestin because I get this view!  It makes running a lot easier!

Of course everyday we spent at the beach and pool.  The weather was awesome!  No rain and hardly any clouds!  I came to the beach extremely white, so even with sunscreen I burned quite a bit on that first day.  My excuse was that I was using the spray sunscreen and the wind took it away while I was applying :)  I was just a tab bit blotchy and couldn't sleep on my left leg for a couple of days.  Whoops :)

Covering up my leg the next day.

 Beach Babes :)

 Ahhhhh.....

 We love the Beach!

One of our favorite things to do while we are there is eat, of course, and we ate at some great restaurants!

Monday - Dewey Destin Bay side
Tuesday - The Crab Trap
Wednesday - McGuire's
Thursday - The Red Bar
Friday - Graffiti

We met Anna and Christopher at Graffiti in the Wharf on Friday night.  Good times!

We had a great vacation!  It was great to have time off from work and spend time with Grant without school or anything else on the brain.  We are blessed that we got to spend it with some great friends and make fun memories.

In addition to all of these cutesy photos above, we also got some pretty hilarious outtakes...that mostly involve Curt...

Thanks for the memories Florida!  Can't wait to see you again! :)

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend marked the beginning of my 10 day vacation!  We started it off by celebrating the marriage of Josh and Amanda!  Josh and Amanda are both in school with Grant and have become close friends, so we were excited to share in this special day with them.  The wedding was in Indianapolis, so we loaded up on Saturday morning and made the 4 1/2 hr trek to the wedding!  We made it just in time...literally.  We actually changed clothes in the parking lot! :)

Curt had to go a day early to the wedding, so Lindsey got ride with us. Yay!

Grant and I with the beautiful bride and groom.

Several of Grant's friends from school also came to the wedding, so we had a great time at the reception dancing and hanging out with everyone!

Eco-Babies!

Today after work we had a baby shower for Whitney and her new little man!  Lori, Anna, Erin, and I helped get everything together, and she had a great turnout!

I hope I look half a good as Whitney does when I am pregnant!

I am so thankful that I can call the people that I work with friends!

Happy Baby Shower, Whitney!  Can't wait to meet Baby Patton!

Weekend with the Buckster

Trip one of our travel adventures this month is in the books!  Friday night Grant and I couldn't get to the airport fast enough to hop on the plane and head to Maryland!  We hadn't seen George, Courtney, and Clay since January, so we were so excited to get to spend some a few days with them.

Waiting on the bus to take us to the terminal!

We landed around 7:30 and headed to baggage claim where Courtney and Clay were waiting for us!  Bucky was excited to see Grant :)

We got our bags, went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and then headed home in a monsoon to get settled in!

Saturday morning Clay had a soccer game.  His team is undefeated!  The team they were playing was not that great, so Bucky's team blew them out!  We got to see him "blast" two goals in (as he says it).  Good job, Bucky!!

Of course Courtney and I had to get plenty of shopping in, so we spent the rest of the afternoon at the LOFT and the mall before coming home to get ready to head to one of Courtney and George's friend's birthday parties.
We're Ready!!

The boys had to get a game of basketball in before we left....

Look! Clay can dunk it! :)

Sunday was Mother's Day.  We went to church, ate lunch, and then went over to George's aunt's house with the rest of his family.  Grant and I are both lucky to have so many wonderful mother's in our lives. From grandparents, moms, aunts, sisters, and cousins, we have so many good examples to look at!  After leaving George's aunt's house, we headed back to Courtney and George's, made cookies, played soccer, and just hung out for the rest of the night.

Clay had school on Monday, so we headed up to Valley Elementary to eat lunch with him and tell him bye.  It gets harder and harder to tell Bucky bye each time.  He is growing up so fast, and I hate that we can't be there to watch every second of it!  I only shed a few tears while leaving the school :)

We love our Buckster!

After leaving Clay, Courtney drove us down closer to the airport and of course we hit up another mall!  I was able to get a couple of really cute dresses and a pair of shoes for our upcoming trip to Florida this weekend!! yay!

Of course our trip was too short, but we had a great few days away!  We are so blessed to have such great family that we love spending time with!

Thanks for having us Stauffer's - We love you!!

Heeeeeeee's Doonneee! (with P3 year)

Grant took his last final EVER this morning!

Horray!  YAY! Hallelujah!  YAY! YAY! YAY!

I couldn't be more proud of Grant for all of the hard work and dedication that he has put in over the last three years. I am very blessed to have a husband that works as hard as he does so that he will be able to provide for our family.  Today marks the end of his classroom experience and now only rotations left!  After he finished his final today, they were told to exit out the front of the building.  All of the faculty and staff were there waiting with balloons and Payday candy bars cheering and clapping as they came out the door.  I am so thanful that we chose Lipscomb!  The faculty and staff are great!

I had to work late, so we didn't get to properly celebrate, but I stopped by Kroger on my way home and got this cheesy balloon and Grant's favorite...chocolate pie!

He now has three weeks off before he begins his first rotation, so we are trying to fit in everything fun we can before June 1. This weekend we are going to Maryland and then the next week we are headed to Destin! We are both in major need of a break :)

Grant - I love you and I am SO proud of you!  Almost to the finish line!!

Derby Weekend

The blog title makes you think we did something really excited for Derby weekend, but actually we didn't even watch!  I know, we're from Kentucky...horses don't just really do it for us.  Can I say that?  Anyways, we did have a fun weekend back in Kentucky hanging out with friends and family!

Remember how I said on my last blog that I wanted to add those pictures in case anything happened to my phone?  Well, I dropped it in the toilet...in a public restroom....at the park...terrible.  I let it sit in rice for a couple of nights and everything started working again except the music would not play and the flash light stayed on constantly.  I started to notice on Saturday that the battery was wearing down extremely fast, so I just upgraded to an iPhone 5!  Yay! (kind of worked out for me)  So now I'm in the process of transferring everything over...yuck!  So, we spent Saturday night at the mall with Kem and Ray doing a little shopping and getting my phone all in order.  Fun times.

Sunday we went to church and then drove to Paducah to eat and play tennis with Janet, Brandon, Jenna, and Allie.  We took Tucker along with us too.  We ate at the country club and then headed over to play tennis.  Tucker has just started playing and we had heard some pretty hilarious stories on his tennis skills, so we were excited to finally get out and play with him. We had five, so we split up teams and rotated around. Tucker wasn't as bad as we thought!  haha!

 Jenna and Tucker high-fiving!

We all randomly decided to wear UK!

No caption needed.

After tennis, we headed back to Janet and Brandon's house to hang out for a bit and play a couple of games.  The girls also talked Brandon into getting a kitten on Saturday, that they named Squirrel, so we played with it too!

Squirrel wanted to play.

We finished up the weekend at the Gillespie's house for the high school small group, and then headed back to Nashville!  Another fun weekend in KY is in the books!

Grant has four finals this week, and then he is done with classroom school forever!!  YAY!  Next weekend the Mathis family will be traveling to Maryland to visit Courtney, George, and Clay and then on to Florida!  Can't wait :)
