Fall Festivities

Whew!  We had a jam packed weekend filled with lots of fall activities!  Friday I played "sick" from work and got tons of stuff done around the apartment!  I cleaned out our spare bedroom closet, switched my closet from summer to fall, took a few loads of trash out, donated quite a few bags of clothes to the goodwill, and packed up some things to start taking back to KY!  Grant got home a little early from work, so as soon as we got the car loaded we got in and started towards Kentucky for the weekend festivities!

Friday night we were so excited we got to spend time with Megan and Tyler!  We met them at their house and then headed to Murray to eat at a new Chinese/Hibachi place that Grant and I had not been to yet.  It was awesome to get to catch up with them and spend some time relaxing!  Megan is pregnant and due in December, although she looks like she just found out, so of course we talked plenty of baby, checked out the shower gifts they got, and got a preview of the baby's room.  Fun night!

Saturday morning we were scheduled to go look at a couple of houses in North Marshall, so Grant, Kem, and I went and checked them out.  The first one we went to we knew right away it was a dud.  Ten minutes later we were on to the next one!  The second one we saw we actually really liked!  Its roomy, has a few updates, and in a great location!  We are going to look at a few more next weekend so we can compare, but at least we are starting to get some options!

After the house hunt, we ate lunch, and then headed to Paducah to help my twin cousins get ready for their Homecoming dance.  I went to their hair appointment with them and then helped them with their makeup.  They looked beautiful!

After the girls left for the dance, we went to eat with Brandon and Janet and then went back to their house to watch the Cardinals pull off a win in the World Series!  We thought the game was pretty much over, so we pulled out some home videos that had my dad in them.  He passed away when I was ten, so its hard for me to remember what his voice sounded like and some of his mannerisms.  Luckily, Janet had a few videos from Christmas and Thanksgiving that were awesome to get to watch!  After we watched the videos, we realized the game was all the sudden tied!  We finished out the game and watched the Cardinals win on a interference play! Yay!

Sunday, we went to church, grabbed a bite to eat, and then got ready to go to Kurt and Tracy's for our annual family pumpkin party!  Our numbers were a little down this year, but we still had a great time!  Mine and Grant's pumpkin was supposed to be a porcupine, but turned out to be terrible.

Here is the finished project!  The pumpkin was a little wet, so when we plugged in the lights after poking them through the holes, we might have turned off the breaker, shocked Lisa Parker, and only half of the strand worked! haha!  We ended up being disqualified from the judging!!

The winning pumpkins...Burt and Ernie!

All the pumpkins on display!

Everyone with their pumpkins!

After the pumpkin judging and the spooky hayride, Grant and I headed back to Nashville!  Whew! It was a busy weekend, but we wouldn't have it any other way!  Lot's of memories made and good times with friends and family!  Can't believe Halloween is already this week!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Nashvegas Weekend in Pictures

This weekend we hung around Nashville and had a relaxing weekend that included a date night, time with family, and lots of football.  I'll let the pictures do the talking!

We had a gift card to Outback, so Friday night was date night!  I can't hardly get Grant to take a serious picture...

On to Saturday:

Saturday we met up with these three beauties and Kelly and Jason on their way to the Luke Bryan concert for Alec's birthday!  We spent the day shopping around, had a photo shoot outside of target, and then dropped them off downtown at the concert!  Fun times :)

After the concert drop off, we headed to Sam's Sushi for Dinner.  Sam is about to close and move back to Japan, so this was probably our last time to eat there! Sad day :(

Sunday:
There are no pictures from Sunday, because all we did was go to church and lay on the couch all day!  Justin and AJ got to our house on late Saturday night, spent the night, and went to church with us.  I made homemade potato soup in the crock pot (delish) and we literally spent the rest of the day watching football!

Fun weekend in Nashville!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Starting to Feel Like Fall

We had another jam packed weekend in Kentucky!  Friday night after work we headed straight to Kem and Ray's house.  We haven't been home to KY for an actual weekend long visit in about a month, so we were excited to get to spend the weekend with everyone.  We spent Friday night playing with their dog Rimmy, watching the Cardinals in the playoffs, catching up, and resting up for a busy Saturday!

Saturday morning Grant and I had a meeting in Paducah.  After the meeting, we went and picked up Karson and her friend Karly on our way back through to meet Kem for lunch.  We met Kem for lunch at Parcell's (yummy!) and then went and looked at potential house for us to buy!  We are just now starting to try to figure out where we are going to live when we move back, and its so exciting to start looking.  I love looking at houses and decorating, so hopefully the process will just go super smoothly and we can find something we like in our budget!

After we toured around the house and neighborhood for awhile, we headed back to Kem's house to hang out for a bit.  Saturday night we had an engagement party for Kurt's new wife's daughter, so we wanted to relax before we had to head over to the party.  So, I got my camera out when we got home and we had a photo shoot!  Here are some of the shots we took.  Karson and Karly were great models!

Karson with her birthday present from Grant and I! She turns 16 in a couple of weeks and she LOVES elephants.

We got a little carried away at this point...

Rimmy got in the spirit!

Looking good, Kemy! Ha!

After our fall photo shoot, we headed over to Kurt and Tracy's for the engagement party.  They made homemade ribs, which were delish, and everyone was supposed to bring a side item and the recipe to go with it.  It was a fun night with all of the families coming together and of course, the girls wanted to take some more pictures...

Aren't they pretty?!  Karson and Klein

Just your typical jumping pic!

Cousins!

Friends!

Somehow we ended up with four out of the six in the picture above at our house after the engagement party for a slumber party!

Sunday morning we went to church, and then met the whole fam at Cracker Barrel for lunch!  Sunday equals football for this family, so we hurried home after we ate and watched the Rams BEAT the Texans! Whoo hoo!  We finished out the weekend catching up with the Parker's before heading back to Nashville.

It's getting harder and harder to leave knowing that it is almost time for us to be back full-time, but at the same time we know we will be back soon!  Thankful for a great weekend and weather that actually started to feel like fall!

Happy 16th Birthday, Tucker

On our way home from St. Louis, we made a pit stop at Grant's parent's house for a surprise 16th birthday party for Tucker.  He knew that we were in St. Louis for the weekend, so I text him and told him that we were bringing by his gift if he wanted to come out and get it.  He thought he was going to go to dinner with some friends, but they told him they didn't mind bringing him out to the house!  When he arrived he actually had about 40 family members waiting to surprise him!  Tucker doesn't get embarrassed to easily, so it was funny to see him actually surprised!

"Surprise!"

 This is scary...

So glad we made it back in time to help celebrate!  I can't believe that he is 16 and ready to be driving!  Grant and I have taken him out a couple times and let him practice.  He likes to hug the edge of the road a little too close for me...I'm not a very good passenger.  I think I'll wait to ride with him for another year or so! haha!

Happy Sweet 16, Tucker!  We love you!!

St. Louis Weekend Getaway (Part 2)

Sunday was game day!  We woke up, got dressed in our Rams gear, and headed downtown for the festivities!  We walked around the dome for a while and found some lunch before we went inside.

Some pics from the outside/tailgate area:

Isn't he the cutest?!

 Happy 10 Years!

The NFL has a new policy this year that you can't take a purse or camera bag into the stadiums, so my good camera had to go back to the car and the iphone came out for the game!  We had great seats on the 30 yard line!

The best part of the day was the Ram's won!! YAY!  I think the past 4 or 5 times we have gone, they have lost every time, so it was great to finally see a win!

We had a great weekend in St Louis celebrating ten years together and a great finish with a Ram's win!  I can't wait for Grant to start making some money so that we can go to more than one game a year!  :)

GO RAMS!

St. Louis Weekend Getaway (Part 1)

Every year on our anniversary of "dating" we try to make a trip to St. Louis to see the Rams play.  This year happened to be our ten year anniversary (whoa!) so we made a weekend getaway out of it!  We headed out of town on Friday, once we both got home from work, and took our time making the 5 1/2 hour trip.  We stopped at Chick-fil-a, then again at Dairy Queen (hey, it was vacation) and then arrived at our hotel around 11 on Friday night.

The view from our room on Saturday morning.  We decided this trip we would stay outside of the city a little bit and closer to the mall!

Saturday morning we woke up, got ready, and walked a few blocks over to a delicious little breakfast/brunch joint.  We sat outside on the patio and had a nice relaxing brunch.  The food was great!  After eating, we headed back to the hotel, got in the car, and went downtown to take a tour of the Budweiser plant.  As many times as we have been the St. Louis, this was one thing we had not done yet.  I couldn't wait to see the horses!

So Pretty!

Look what we found!  A type of copper that they used to use was called Grant Copper!

The tour lasted about two hours and was pretty fun!  Even though I hate the taste of beer (yuck!) it was still pretty neat to see the whole process and how they make it.  Fun fact:  It actually takes about three months for the beer to go through the whole brewing process before it is bottled up and headed to the stores!

After our tour, we had to get some shopping in of course!  I was hoping that the Victoria's Secret in St. Louis would have a wide variety of St. Louis Rams gear, but they had nothing...just one tiny rack!  ugh!  The mall there is awesome, though, and we spent a couple of hours shopping around before going back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner.

We ate dinner on the Hill in St. Louis, which is an area of town known for their Italian restaurants.  It was delish!

Heading out to dinner.  I was trying to take the photo from my app that links directly to my good camera, so excuse the half, weird smiles! It's the best we could do!

Once we got back to the hotel after dinner, we were exhausted!  We had to get plenty of rest so that we could cheer the Ram's onto victory the next morning!
