St Louis Getaway

This weekend we spent relaxing in St. Louis!  Before Grant starts work, we decided a weekend getaway would be perfect!  A guy that we go to church with has season tickets to the Rams and asked if Grant and I wanted to buy a couple of tickets to the home opener.  Of course, Grant said yes!  So, we headed up to St. Louis on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend.

 

Friday when we got there we headed to the mall area to do some shopping!  I had to get my Target fix!  We spent the afternoon and evening just walking around and ate at one of our favorites, Maggiano's.  Delish!

 

 

Saturday we had brunch at another favorite of ours, First Watch.  Sooo goooddd!  The area of town that we were in was also having an art fair, so we walked around there for a bit and then headed to the St. Louis Zoo.  The weather was perfect to walk around outside, and it's one of the best zoo's we've been to!

 

 

After the zoo, we went back to the hotel to freshen up and then walked to one of our favorite Italian restaurants, Charlie Gitto's.  Yum!

 

Sunday was the game, so we woke up early, got ready, and headed to the stadium.  We had great seats, but the game was terrible!!  They played horrible and lost 34-6!  Yuck!!  We grabbed a bite after the game at Hooters and then headed home!

 

 

We had a great weekend in St. Louis!  Hopefully the Rams will pick it up in the next few weeks!

Officially Official

Grant found out last week that he passed all his boards! Whoo hooo!!!  He is officially an official Pharmacist and got his license in the mail today!  YAY!

So proud of you Grant!!!! Now let's get to work! :)
 

 

 



Happy Birthday to Me

This past Monday was my 27th birthday! 27?!? Oh my...I'm only three years away from 30!  When did I get that old?  I have a feeling 27 might be one of my best yet, so I'm not too sad!

We spent the day in Louisville for Grant to take his NAPLEX test.  Fun times for me.  While he was in the exam I went to Target, Nordstrom Rack, and then met Peyton at the University of Louisville to check in on her!  Peyton is a freshman there this year and is so far loving it!  We went and got some ice cream and I got to tour her dorm room.  It was fun catching up on her first few days of college.

I then went back to the testing site and waited on Grant to finish up.  Once he was finished we finally got to act like it was my birthday and celebrate!!  The test was definitely cramping my birthday style this year.  I usually like to celebrate pretty much the whole month.  I was trying to tone it down a little this year so I wouldn't distract Grant from his studies.  I know, I'm awesome :)

We went to the mall and looked around for a minute and then headed to J. Alexander's for dinner.  One of my favorites!!  Delish!

Grant's testing site had a football player on the side.  We were hoping that was good luck!!

When we got back home on Monday night, Justin and Cameron were at our house with a surprise cake and streamers all over the place!  It was so sweet!

Beside the nerves from the test, it was a great birthday!! 

The next day I was able to work on our Rams schedule on the chalkboard wall in the garage!  I thought it turned out pretty well!

Life Update

It's been so long since I last blogged, this post requires the title of life update!  We have been filling up our days here in Kentucky with lots of family and friend time, random work around our house, studying, and I don't know what else...but we have been busy!!

 

Grant and Marshmallow have been studying extra hard lately :)

 

 Our kitchen looks like this a lot.  We've hosted several card and mafia nights recently and love hanging out with these people!

 

 I helped my friend, Megan, out one day when she needed a babysitter and kept her little boy Monroe.  He was so sweet and easy!

 

 Marshmallow learned a new trick a couple weeks ago.  He somehow figured out how to climb his way up the hanging clothes and sleep between the hangers.  He's a weird cat sometimes...

 

 A couple of Saturday nights ago we hosted a hypnotist at our church for a back to school bash.  It was hysterical!!!  I haven't laughed that hard in awhile.  If you ever have the chance to go to a show, do it! 

 

 Aww... he won't leave me alone on the couch for more than 3 secs.  He's actually making writing this post extra hard since he keeps trying to walk on the computer :)

 

 Last week I gave our youth room a little clean and pick me up!  It needed it! 

 

 And I kept Kip and Blair's baby, Lovett, last week as well!

 

 This also happens in our kitchen quite often.  Justin in an apron - not surprising

 

The biggest thing that has happened over the last couple of weeks is that we got to celebrate my grandparent's 59th wedding anniversary!  My grandmother is starting to show some signs of slowing down and memory loss, so every time we get to spend together lately I have not been taking for granted!  We met my aunt, uncle, and twin cousins at the lake for dinner.  Afterwards, my grandparents went home and we all went to play mini-golf!  Fun night!

Lots of busy days here lately and we're just starting to really ramp up as we start heading into fall.  I can't wait for football, cooler weather, bonfires, and pumpkins!

 

 



Wedding Fun

Last Saturday night we celebrated the wedding of Ally and Aaron.  Ally is Grant's uncle Kurt's step-daughter.  The wedding was at Kurt and Tracy's house overlooking the reservoir they have behind their house.  It was beautiful...and HOT!  The food was delicious, the décor was beautiful, the dancing was fun, we got to catch up with some friends we don't get to see very often, and help celebrate the bride and groom!

Glow Run Fun

This past Saturday night I ran in the Glow Run to benefit the high school soccer teams!  It was the perfect night to run.  The weather was awesome!! Tucker, Karson, and Klein are all on the team, so I thought I would go run to support :). I haven't consistently ran so I was a little nervous, but I actually had a great run! The race started at 9:00 that night and went across the dam.  There were about 150 people that participated, and I got first in my age group for females! Whoo hoo!  I think there were probably only about 5 in my division, but I was still excited!

Who hoo!  First place!  I don't think that will happen again!  To celebrate we went to dairy queen afterwards with the Lovett's! Ha!

We will actually be able to make some of the soccer games this year, so we are ready for the season to start!  Let's go MCHS!

Random Update - Busy Bees

The past couple of weeks since I have gotten home from Utah, we have been BUSY!  My mom, niece, and sister came in town for a few days, Clay has been here, we've been getting ready for a family wedding, and working on the outside of our house!  Here are my iPhone pictures of our craziness...

 

 Corynne and I were over taking pictures! We spent lots of time at my grandparents house the past few days playing cards, eating, and hanging out with my family!

 

 We got my grandmother out one day and did a little shopping in Murray!  Corynne was helping Rene :)

 We had lunch one day while my mom was here with of my good friends from high school and college, Krista.  Krista just had a baby not too long ago, so we got to introduce her to my mom!

 

 We ventured to Paducah a couple of days and let Corynne swim at the country club with Jenna and Allie!  She loved the water!

 

 Our painter came this week and painted all of our doors, inside and out, black.  They all look SO much better!!

 Sunday night we went over to our Preacher's house and played some pool volleyball!

 

 Clay has been wanting to go fishing while he was here, so we took him to Grant's uncle's house one night.  He has a reservoir in his back yard.  Clay caught this fish and was so proud!

 

 Mac has spent a lot of time at our house bonding with Marshmallow lately :)

Grant's been doing a great job painting our shutters!  We have been working hard trying to spruce up the outside lately!

 

These are just the random things that I happened to get pictures of, but it feels like we have literally been doing something every hour of the past few days!  The next few days will be just as busy as Courtney and George come in and Kurt's step-daughter gets married!  Fun times!
