This year we spent the 4th at Gran and Poppa's pool eating, swimming, relaxing, and having fun with family! Grant and I woke up Thursday morning (the 4th) to a rainy, cloudy Nashville. We were afraid that our pool plans would be ruined, but as we got closer to KY, the sun started to come out a little! Yay! Part of Poppa's family was in town for the week, so we all met over at the pool, swam, and then had an early supper with everyone!
Lot's of swimming going on!
After we ate and swam for awhile, we all got dressed and headed over to Calvert City for the fireworks.
Pre Fireworks Pics...
Celebrating the 4th!
Love my Karson!
Karson was our child for the weekend and spent the night with us every night! Loved it!
Some of the girls. Betty and Klein were on a church camping trip.
The past three or four years we have been in Destin for July 4th. This year we went earlier due to Grant's rotation schedule, so after seeing the fireworks from the beach the past few years, Calvert City really needs to step up their firework display! Even though the fireworks only lasted about five minutes it seemed, it was still fun to get outside with the family!
The Lovett's were in Chicago for the 4th, so since we missed them so much we decided to leave them a present for when they got back. A local real estate agent had left flags in every ones yards as an advertisement, and we thought it would be so Patriotic to take a few over to the Lovett's house for when they got home. So on Saturday night we went around Benton and just gathered up a few. A few flags quickly turned into going through three neighborhoods and actually gathering 119 flags! Grant, Karson, and I placed them all over their yard so they wouldn't feel left out when they got home! Party in the USA!
The pictures don't do the yard justice. There were flags everywhere! HA!
We had been to a nice dinner that night, so we were running around Benton at midnight stealing flags...in Spanx and skinny jeans! HA!
Thanks Crystal for the flags! :)
Love getting to spend the holidays with family and making such fun memories!
Happy Fourth of July!!
