Every year on our anniversary of "dating" we try to make a trip to St. Louis to see the Rams play. This year happened to be our ten year anniversary (whoa!) so we made a weekend getaway out of it! We headed out of town on Friday, once we both got home from work, and took our time making the 5 1/2 hour trip. We stopped at Chick-fil-a, then again at Dairy Queen (hey, it was vacation) and then arrived at our hotel around 11 on Friday night.
The view from our room on Saturday morning. We decided this trip we would stay outside of the city a little bit and closer to the mall!
Saturday morning we woke up, got ready, and walked a few blocks over to a delicious little breakfast/brunch joint. We sat outside on the patio and had a nice relaxing brunch. The food was great! After eating, we headed back to the hotel, got in the car, and went downtown to take a tour of the Budweiser plant. As many times as we have been the St. Louis, this was one thing we had not done yet. I couldn't wait to see the horses!
So Pretty!
Look what we found! A type of copper that they used to use was called Grant Copper!
The tour lasted about two hours and was pretty fun! Even though I hate the taste of beer (yuck!) it was still pretty neat to see the whole process and how they make it. Fun fact: It actually takes about three months for the beer to go through the whole brewing process before it is bottled up and headed to the stores!
After our tour, we had to get some shopping in of course! I was hoping that the Victoria's Secret in St. Louis would have a wide variety of St. Louis Rams gear, but they had nothing...just one tiny rack! ugh! The mall there is awesome, though, and we spent a couple of hours shopping around before going back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner.
We ate dinner on the Hill in St. Louis, which is an area of town known for their Italian restaurants. It was delish!
Heading out to dinner. I was trying to take the photo from my app that links directly to my good camera, so excuse the half, weird smiles! It's the best we could do!
Once we got back to the hotel after dinner, we were exhausted! We had to get plenty of rest so that we could cheer the Ram's onto victory the next morning!
