Last week we spent the week at Lipscomb for IMPACT! The past six or seven years we have been to at least part of Impact and we love it! It is such a fun week spent with about 2,000 other people laughing, hanging out, not getting much sleep, and worshipping God! It was another kind of spur of the moment trip, so we only had six in our group. We took Grant's cousin Klein, my twin cousins, Jenna and Allie, and Abby Spicer!
The camp goes Monday through Saturday morning. Everyday we would get up and eat breakfast, the girls would head to a class just for them, we would meet back up for Bible Class, and then head to morning Impact. Morning Impact is a hilarious two hour comedy show, basically. They also have a play they do every morning that goes with the theme for the week and continues everyday until the finale on Friday night. They have to spend hours upon hours getting everything together. I don't know how they think of some of the stuff they come up with! It takes a lot of work to keep 2,000 teenagers alert for that long.
After Morning Impact we would head to lunch, go to one more Bible class, and then have free time for the rest of the afternoon. I made a trip to the mall during one of our free times, but for the most part we would just play games, listen to music, watch people Karaoke, and one day they had a talent show we watched. We would meet up for dinner, and then they would have some sort of entertainment every night. One night it was a comedy group, one night a magician, and one night one of the finalist from America's Got Talent came and performed his act for us! After the entertainment was always Evening Impact where we worshipped and listened to some great lessons. Love Evening Impact and the worship time!
The very first day at breakfast a high school boy was walking behind Grant towards the trash and spilt his orange juice all down his shirt! Ha!!
Over 2,000 people ready to worship!
The theme for this year had to do with Distractions in our everyday lives that pull us away from the things that really matter. So, the play theme was video games set in the '80's and this was one of the main characters. We all got our picture made with him doing his signature move!
We love Troy! Sort of... The first night he yelled at Grant and then clotheslined him when he was trying to get to our seats! Seriously! We made fun of him all week and then got their picture made with him on the last night! Hysterical!
Shot of the play one day. They go all out with the costumes and stage!
The twins ran into another set of twins from Canada!
Another view of the stage set up
Happy to be at Impact! LOL!
Love, Love, Love these girls! What a great group and fun memories we made! I love going to Impact and so happy that we got to share it with these girls. I know I left feeling closer to them and God, and hopefully they did too!
Thanks for a great week Impact!
